Volunteers Needed for Baan Unrak Workshop

We, Crimson Education Thailand are organizing a charity workshop for underprivileged kids at Baan Unrak, Sangklaburi on 16-18 November 2018 so we are looking for 7 volunteers to help us run this workshop.

This workshops aims help them learn and apply important subjects more effectively and guide them to prepare for university admission.

Role and Responsibility

  • Activity Leader (2 people/1 subject) for Classroom I-III

    • Design and being a teacher in a 50-minutes classroom to deliver academic content in Thai/Math/Science in the most enjoyable ways for 10-16 years old kids

    • Support the activity leader to run The Time Machine Activity

    • Give advice in studying abroad, applying college, scholarship to the kids

  • General Helper (1 person)

    • Coordinating with the Baan Unrak staff in food, accommodation, transportation issue

    • Help the activity leader to set up the venue, prepare facilities and equipment in each activity  

  • Photographer (1 person)

    • Taking photos and video(s) during camp

    • Edit photos and video(s) (if possible)

Requirement

  • High schoolers and Crimson staff are welcome

  • Able to communicate in Thai (with good command would be great)

  • Have 2 hours per 2 weeks availability to join (almost) online meeting during Mid July to Early November and can commit the whole workshop at Sangklaburi  

  • Child-friendly

  • For photographer, have to own a camera which can bring to the workshop

  • Younger students (Grade 4-9)

  • Older students (Grade 10-12)

Staff

     10-12 people

Objectives

  • To let the younger student see value of education, use of academic skills and encourage them to enjoy 5 core subjects which which are important to higher-level education and university admission through fun-interactive class

  • To walk the older student through Thai university admission process and give them some tips

  • To help all participant to develop their soft skills, for example: interpersonal skills, critical thinking skill, team working skill

Activity Detail

Classroom I-III

    Open younger students’ mind to study Thai, math and science which are basic and very important for high school and college. The students will learn these subjects in more constructive and fun ways. Theories and formulas will be taught through experiments and hands-on experience.   

Classroom IV: Time Machine

Lots of Thai students don’t like social study, economics and history because there are many things to memorize and quite boring. In this activity, the students will learn these 3 subjects via games and missions.  

Intro to Admission & Win College Admission Game

    Walk through Thai universities admission process, tips and preparation via Snakes and Ladders-like game
