Mudd students are also able to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities, both academic and extracurricular, at four other colleges in the Claremont College Consortium, or the "5 C's" (Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, Scripps, Pitzer, and Pomona). While Mudd is the most STEM-focused school in the consortium, it allows students to branch out. Outside of his studies, Varun plays in an Orchestra with students at other Claremont Colleges, and takes humanities and social science courses as well.
